Wear something comfortable! T-shirts and jeans are common attire. You may want to bring a backup outfit(s) because we hold our weekly dance immediately following our lessons. Some of our dancers perspire through several shirts, so be prepared!
You’ll want to wear clothes that allow you to move easily and freely. You’ll also want wear shoes that don’t cause too much friction. Too much tread can be bad for your ankles, knees and back. Some friction is good so that you don’t slip and fall, but you don’t want so much tread that you stick to the floor.
Also, remember that you will be dancing with and touching others, so please take that into account when deciding what to wear. Sleeves that cover your underarms are encouraged. Keep your hair close to your head so you don’t whip your partner if the face. Use deodorant and brush your teeth as not to offend your partners’ nostrils.

Our free introductory classes are for everyone! However, most of our classes are aimed at intermediate to advanced dancers. As a prerequisite for these classes, you should be comfortable with the Lindy Hop basic.
Rhythm Junction offers a series of classes each month. The theme changes from month to month but you can see the list of upcoming classes on our classes page.
Parking is available right near the venue. The meters along the street are all free after 10pm. This is usually right after the dinner crowd, meaning spots start to open up. If you don’t find one right away, one is bound to open soon.
There is also a lot along the alley, note this charges more than the meters. It does allow for longer parking periods though. There is also paid parking under I94 west of the Basilica.
Lastly, the blue areas in the image below here aren’t enforced after 6pm! There is a nice lighted path (from Harmon Place) that runs through the community college campus (denoted by the orange line). Rhythm Junction provides an opportunity for all dancers to gain increased exposure to DJing styles, sub-genres of Jazz, and other musical qualities through our individual DJ preferences as well as themed nights. In this way, Rhythm Junction hopes to energize your dancing by empowering and enabling dancers to grow and develop your own dance and style.
Regardless of the various DJs and themes, you will always get a solid night of music for Lindy Hop. We strongly encourage dancers to dance to music they think is “too fast” or “too slow” or “doesn’t swing” as we believe that all dancers should be able to dance to all music.
Yes! Let the front desk know that you’d like someone to walk you back to your car and the Site Manager will see to it.
